A woman remembered as her family’s ‘everything’ has been named and pictured for the first time.
32-year-old RebekahCampbelldied after an incident at around 10.30 pm on Tuesday at Knowsley Heights in Huyton.
Merseyside Police were called to the block of flats on a report that a woman had been stabbed.
Rebekah was taken to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Since her death, her family have paid tribute to the ‘happy young woman’, who was described as kind and caring.
‘Rebekahwas our everything. She was a happy young woman with her whole life ahead of her and had a genuine heart of gold. If it meant putting herself out to help someone, she wouldn’t hesitate,’ they said.
‘We are so proud of her. She was a support for vulnerable people and would use her own experiences to make other lives better.’
‘We are so grateful for all the messages of condolences, and we didn’t realise how many people’s livesRebekahhad touched, which just reiterates to us how special she was.
‘As a family, we would appreciate privacy at this time,’ they added.
A 34-year-old man from Litherland was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning while investigations are carried out.
Today, a cordon remained in place outside the entrance to the flats as police divers were seen searching part of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in Litherland.
Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident, but are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dyer said: ‘This was a tragic incident in which a woman has sadly lost her life and specially trained officers are supporting her family. An investigation is underway, which is in the very early stages as we seek to establish exactly what has happened.
‘Patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance for the community and officers continue to make CCTV and witness enquiries. If you live in the area and have any concerns, please speak with officers.’
A series of heartbreaking tributes have been shared on social media fromRebekah’s friends and loved ones who described her as a ‘beautiful, caring’ woman who ‘loved being around her family and friends’.
Lauren Groves wrote: ‘Wow I cannot believe what am reading. RIPRebekahLouise fly high thinking of all your family at this devastating time. We will meet again one day.’
ChelseaCampbellsaid: ‘Until we meet again our queen. Always look up to you even while you’re not here.’
Antonia Evans said: ‘Forever young our beautiful girl, I will love and miss you forever.’
